The Rock River Rats put one in the win column on Opening Day at The Rat Hole. The Rats defeated the Windsor Royals, 9-4. Rock River designated hitter Amlak Sang was instrumental in his team's success. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.

Rock River took the lead, 7-4, on Pierce Gagne's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Windsor pitcher Carlos Porras in the bottom of the eighth.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gagne. "And not try to do too much."
