Jeff Hair imposed his will on the Cornhuskers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 Fraser Valley triumph. Tommy Spezia picked up the save for Fraser Valley, his 1st of the year. The defeat makes DeKalb 2-1.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Jon Webb didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and DeKalb trailing 2-0, Webb retired Bob O'Connor to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Webb, with a wink.
