The Spokane Bulldogs eked out a 2-1 win versus the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Kennel. Nobody did more than pitcher Mario Correa. He was terrific. Bill Antunez, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Zbynek Petruzalek closed the door for Spokane, picking up his 1st save of the year.

The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from catcher Ron Hager. For the game, Hager was 2-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Spokane a 2-1 lead.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Bulldogs manager .

With the loss, Sandy Springs is 2-1.
