Beetlecats Get One-Run Win at Beaumont
Buzzard's Bay beat Beaumont at Drillers Stadium, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Ted Illig. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Ivan Valdes came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The win gives Buzzard's Bay a record of 2-2.

Jon Kincaid came through with a big-time hit for Buzzard's Bay. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
