The Evanston Bishops went down to defeat to Jimmy Welch and his Rock River teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Rats. Picking up the save was Steve Lees, his 1st.

Alex Miguel hit a 2-run home run off Lorenzo Rodriguez in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Rats ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Miguel had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"Jimmy throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Rock River manager Shunso Sato.

The loss puts Evanston at 3-1.
