Wolverines Lose, 5-2, as Black Bears Rally
The Fraser Valley Black Bears rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Raul Olveda to a win, beating the Wichita Wolverines, 5-2, at Howling Park. The winning pitcher was Olveda, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Steve Noonan recorded the save, his 2nd.

Joshua Grenfell came through with a big-time hit for Fraser Valley. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Fraser Valley manager Albert Giles was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

The loss has the Wolverines at 1-4.
