The Windsor Royals trumped the Marysville Monarchs, 7-4, at Mitts Fieldhouse. Windsor first baseman Shawn Kelly was terrific. He went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Rob Schuss, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 2-1. Windsor is now 7-5.

Had Jerry Paddack not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Paddack hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Royals.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Kelly.
