Black Bears Drop 3-2 Decision to Lumberjacks
|
Hurler Hugo Flores gave the Adirondack Lumberjacks a solid start. The native of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional helped his team defeat the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 3-2, at Paul Bunyan Field. Tony Vertiz was credited with the save for Adirondack, his 1st of the season. The loss drops Fraser Valley to 6-7.
The Lumberjacks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Danny Aguilar. For the game, Aguilar was 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Adirondack a 3-0 lead.
"We were in it," said Fraser Valley manager Albert Giles. "We just didn't score enough runs."
