Seagulls Take Down Wolverines, 5-2
|
Clearwater turned a good performance from starting pitcher Darwin Lamb into a 5-2 triumph over the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. Gregg Gayda closed the game out for Clearwater, earning his 2nd save. The win has Clearwater at 9-7.
Jesse Weinreb provided a timely hit. The Clearwater right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Seagulls on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Clearwater manager Ayub Ndadaye.
