The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats went home winners at The Coffee Grinder, thanks in large part to starter Marco Acosta. Acosta stifled the Roaring River Steelheads, enabling Buzzard's Bay to grab the 2-1 win. The winner was Acosta. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Keith Hanley. The win gives Buzzard's Bay a record of 11-10.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ted Illig delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Buzzard's Bay first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Beetlecats in front, 2-1.
Illig called the win "a team effort."
