Pipe Fitters Snatch 8-6 Win from Mustang
Niagara Falls center fielder Matt DeCanio contributed significantly to his team's 8-6 win over the Carson City Mustang. DeCanio, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in triples with 1, went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Pipe Fitters. Jeff Raether, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Pipe Fitters, at 14-6, have a record worth flaunting.

The decisive blow was delivered by Carlos Aispuro in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a 2-run home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Nicholas to win the game for Niagara Falls. The home crowd went nuts.

"Sweet win for us, tough loss for them," said DeCanio.
