Fraser Valley Wins, 9-3, Behind 2 Stickler Home Runs

The Fraser Valley Black Bears beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 9-3, at The Coliseum. The Black Bears got a fine performance from third baseman Jim Stickler, who went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The loss puts Sandy Springs at 8-13.
With Fraser Valley leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Stickler hit a fastball from Juan Tellez for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Black Bears ahead, 4-0.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Sandy Springs skipper Rafael Alonso.
