Getting an impressive start from Ramon Franco, Wichita beat Sandy Springs by the score of 3-2. Franco, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Matt Schaller was credited with the save for Wichita, his 4th of the season.
Wichita used a well-timed hit by Eric Dyson to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Franco.
With the loss, Sandy Springs sinks to 11-10.
