Silicon Valley and Beaumont took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Silicon Valley turned a good effort from starter Jared Mix into a win over the Beaumont Drillers at Drillers Stadium. The Hackers won the game, 5-1. Silicon Valley sits at 19-7 in the early going.
Silicon Valley used a clutch at-bat from Justin Sheridan to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hackers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Jared mixed and matched," said Silicon Valley manager Brad Jones.
