Wolverines Suffer 3-0 Loss to Sandy Springs
|
The Sandy Springs Spartans used a great performance from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Patrick Perillo to beat the Wichita Wolverines, 3-0, at The Coliseum. Perillo yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-2. The Wolverines, 8-16, continue their poor start to the 2063 campaign.
Sandy Springs took a 3-0 lead on Steve Whiteside's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Whiteside hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Wichita pitcher Will Bricknell visibly frustrated.
"Patrick was in attack mode the whole game," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso.
