Colwell Helps Wolverines Defeat Bulldogs, 10-6
The Wichita Wolverines powered past the Spokane Bulldogs, 10-6, at The Kennel. Matt Colwell provided some of the pop. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Arturo Romero got the win, improving to 1-4. He worked 7 innings, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Wichita is now 9-16.

With Wichita leading 7-3 in the top of the sixth, Colwell came up to bat against Spokane pitcher Bill Antunez. Colwell hit a fastball to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Wolverines on top, 10-3.

"We maximized our offense today," said Wichita skipper Abel Keller. "That makes everyone's life easier."
