Rock River got a strong outing from Marlon Walton as the Rats defeated the Carson City Mustang, 4-1, at The Rat Hole. Walton, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Chuck Green locked down his 2nd save.
The Rats got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Glowacki. For the game, Glowacki was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Rock River a 3-1 lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Rock River manager Shunso Sato.
The victory makes Rock River 18-12.
