Silicon Valley Makes It 6 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Silicon Valley Hackers and the Marysville Monarchs, pitcher Jared Mix was the difference between victory and defeat. The Silicon Valley right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Hackers win. The loss has the Monarchs at 10-19.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 20-year old second baseman Dan Carnes had a real shot to win the game. Marysville pitcher Mark Huffer was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Carnes hit a 2-run single. The Hackers had a walk-off triumph.
"This place was rockin'," said Carnes.
