|
Shane Burns pitched a gem to lead Boston to victory over the Evanston Bishops, 5-1. Burns picked up the win for Boston, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The loss lowers the Evanston record to 17-11.
Jesus Pelayo had a big 2-run double for the Whitecaps in the bottom of the second inning. With Boston leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Lorenzo Rodriguez and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whitecaps ahead, 4-0.
