Whitecaps Rally Late to Nip Bishops
The Evanston Bishops and Boston Whitecaps delighted fans at The Studio.

The Boston Whitecaps did just enough to nip the Evanston Bishops, 5-4, in 10 innings. Boston pitcher Victor Cortez, in particular, had a standout performance. Evanston is 17-12 after the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Justin Alexander in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Johnson to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Boston manager T.J. Hall.
