Starting pitcher Ozzie Pedro gave the Silicon Valley Hackers a rock-solid effort. The Glendale, Wisconsin native helped his team defeat the Frisco Rams, 2-1, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The loss drops Frisco to 15-14.
Silicon Valley left fielder Byron Benjamin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Hackers ahead, 2-0.
"Every loss hurts," said Frisco manager Joe Renken. "But this was a tough one."
