Royals Improve to 17-15 with 4-2 Win
|
Windsor pitcher Dave Campbell did his part in helping his team beat the Adirondack Lumberjacks, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner in relief was John Vornbrock. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Despite the loss, Adirondack is still 21-10.
Shawn Kelly, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in hits with 35, took Adirondack hurler Jim Turner deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Royals on top, 4-2. In all, Kelly had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
After the game, Windsor manager Luis Hernández applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
