Beaumont parlayed a decent outing from starter Yukimasa Kobayashi into a solid win over the Marysville Monarchs. The final score was 5-4. The 4th-place Drillers lifted their record to 17-22.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 27-year old first baseman Adam Buxton had a real shot to win the game. Marysville pitcher Carlos Moreno was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Buxton hit a 2-run single. The Drillers had a walk-off triumph.

"Put a star next to this win," Buxton said.
