The Silicon Valley Hackers were defeated, 2-1, by the Roaring River Steelheads at San Jose Municipal Stadium, even though Mark Tanner pitched well for Silicon Valley. Jared Hutson closed out the game, earning his 10th save. After today's action, Roaring River sits at 19-19, while Silicon Valley falls to 28-10.

Roaring River used the timely hitting of Chris Peoples to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Steelheads on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Peoples said.
