DeKalb Cornhuskers starter Jon Luciano turned in a top-notch performance against the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Corn Crib. The result was a win for the Cornhuskers, 4-0. DeKalb is 4th in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 23-19.

The Spartans had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cornhuskers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman Bill McGrath came to the plate. McGrath hit a solo home run on a 0-1 knuckle curve from Sandy Springs hurler Kenny Holloway. It was McGrath's 2nd home run of the year.

Luciano said his team "played with focus."
