Black Bears Pin 7-1 Loss on Wauwatosa
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears went home winners at Albert Park, thanks in large part to starter Ray Goulding. Goulding stifled the Wauwatosa Indians, enabling Fraser Valley to grab the 7-1 win. Goulding yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-1. The second-place Black Bears are now 24-15, the Indians 22-19.
Fraser Valley left fielder Matt Weld contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 34th hit of the season and put the Black Bears ahead, 4-0.
"That was a really good outing by Ray," said Fraser Valley manager Albert Giles.
