The Silicon Valley Hackers faced a tough opponent in Beaumont pitcher Mike Batten, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Drillers Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Batten went 5 innings and allowed no runs. The Hackers now own a record of 20-16.
Silicon Valley used a clutch at-bat from Keith Peterson to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hackers ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Peterson attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
