Rockets Take Tight Tangle
The Kelowna Rockets had to overcome a good performance from Roaring River pitcher David Ruano to claim a 3-2 win at Casino Grounds. Ruano went 8.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Roberto de Alba earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The 4th-place Rockets now have a win-loss record of 19-24.

Mark Loughery came through with a big-time hit for Kelowna. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We were in it," said Roaring River manager Mike Bouffard. "We just didn't score enough runs."
