Black Bears Edge Past Pipe Fitters, 4-3
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Fraser Valley Black Bears and Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters.
Niagara Falls left fielder Azregh Kamoga had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kamoga was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Fraser Valley beat the Pipe Fitters, 4-3. Tommy Spezia earned save number 11 this season.
Fraser Valley needed the clutch hitting of Rickey Garafola to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 4-3. For the game, Garafola had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Niagara Falls skipper Jonathan Kelly.
At 25-17, Fraser Valley is in second place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division.
