Black Mountain catcher Fumikazu Masuda played a vital role in his team's 6-5 conquest of Fraser Valley. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Black Mountain. The third-place Mountaineers bumped their record to 22-18.

Black Mountain got a knockout punch from Tom Verbeek. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Verbeek told a Black Mountain Citizen reporter that the win made him feel "invigorated."
