Ciro Della Volpe was locked and loaded, helping the DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Wauwatosa Indians, 1-0. Jimmy Johnson earned save number 2 this season. DeKalb raised its record to 26-21 with the win.

The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from right fielder Alemu Yakubu. For the game, Yakubu was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave DeKalb a 1-0 lead.

"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Yakubu said.
