Bishops Outdo Black Bears in Extra Innings
The Evanston Bishops overcame a good performance by Fraser Valley first baseman Rick Chapman to knock off Fraser Valley, 9-6, in 12 innings at The Stetson Bowl. Chapman was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Evanston reliever Calvin Hayward picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jesus Medina was saddled with the loss. Evanston raised its record to 26-22 with the win.

Evanston used a timely hit from Mike Baugh to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Bishops ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We own our own mistakes," Baugh told a reporter after the game. "But we share our victories."
