Seagulls Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Indians, 9-8
Due in part to designated hitter Brian Owen, the Clearwater Seagulls chopped down the Wauwatosa Indians, 9-8, in 12 innings. Owen went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Clearwater reliever Jesse Weiss picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Erik Ledet absorbed the loss. With the win, Clearwater pushed its record to 28-20.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Owen delivered big-time for Clearwater, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Erik Ledet. The game-changing hit put the Seagulls on top, 9-8.

In postgame comments to the Clearwater Times, Owen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
