Black Bears Earn 3-0 Road Win Over Pacifica
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears beat the Pacifica Shamrocks, 3-0, at McCormick Field. Starting pitcher Jonathan Emory was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Emory, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Armando Gimenez was called on to finish, recording his 16th save.
Making an impact for Fraser Valley was designated hitter Kevin Frederick. Plantain drilled a double off Edwin Mendiola in the top of the first. For the game, Frederick went 2-5 with a double.
"Jonathan was dictating to their hitters," said Fraser Valley manager Albert Giles.
The Black Bears now have a record of 22-23.
