Getting a good performance from designated hitter Aaron Elting, the Louisiana Crocodiles defeated the Clearwater Seagulls, 5-1. Elting was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Crocodiles. The 6th-place Crocodiles improved to 17-28.

Louisiana used a well-timed hit by John Rice to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Crocodiles ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Nice win for us," said Rice. "Now we'll go after the next one."
