In a seemingly effortless performance, Jim Metcalfe of the Moose Jaw Canucks shot down the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 8-0, on 3 hits.

"Jim was just locating so well and using his pitches," Moose Jaw manager Paul Johnston said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Metcalfe recorded 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Fraser Valley manager Albert Giles said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

So far this year, Metcalfe has compiled a 4-0 record with a 2.49 ERA.
