Cornhuskers Need Extra Innings to Top Shamrocks, 10-7
The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the Pacifica Shamrocks by a score of 10-7. Leading the way was right fielder Alemu Yakubu. Yakubu belted 2 home runs for the Cornhuskers. DeKalb reliever Jimmy Johnson picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Efrain Pereyra was tagged with the loss. DeKalb now sits at 31-25, while Pacifica falls to 18-38.

DeKalb needed the clutch hitting of You-liang Chua to seal the deal. The pinch hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cornhuskers on top, 7-6. For the game, Chua had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Pacifica manager Pedro Mercado.
