Madison beat Murraysville on the strength of starting pitcher Esteban Pavon's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Pavon, now 4-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Even with the win, the Beehive have a dismal 18-41 record.
Jose Rivera, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA in bases on balls with 38, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With no one out and the bases loaded, the Madison center fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Beehive in front, 2-0.
"Bottom line," said Murraysville skipper Joseph Kelley, "we didn't play well enough to win."
