Whitecaps Win at Niagara Falls, 6-3
|
The Boston Whitecaps defeated the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 6-3, at Pipe Fitters Park. Leading the charge for Boston was first baseman Emmitt Hamm. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Boston raised its record to 32-26 with the win.
Carlin Chamberlain had a big 2-run triple for the Whitecaps in the top of the second inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle Carothers and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whitecaps ahead, 3-0.
"I like our moxie," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall.
