The Madison Beehive and Evanston Bishops provided some drama for the home crowd.
Willis Paulino propelled his team to victory over the Madison Beehive. The final score was 4-3, Evanston. The winner was Paulino. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Chad Stoppa.
Evanston used a timely hit from Ryan Godec to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bishops ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
After the game, Evanston manager Harold Planter applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
At 23-28, the Bishops are currently 5th in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division.
