Tim Phillips never let Niagara Falls get something going. The Beaumont right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Drillers to a 4-1 win. In 7 innings, Phillips surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Caspar Twomey closed the door for Beaumont, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Beaumont designated hitter Harvey McFadyen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 62nd hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 2-0.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said McFadyen.

At 34-27, the Drillers find themselves in first place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
