Fans watched the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats and the Adirondack Lumberjacks fight to the finish.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats racked up a win at The Coffee Grinder, bumping off the Adirondack Lumberjacks, 4-3. Jeremy Turner, who started for Buzzard's Bay, pitched effectively for his team. Buzzard's Bay reliever Matt Williams picked up the win to move to 3-1. Chris Courtney suffered the loss. John Peters closed out the game, earning his 14th save.
Buzzard's Bay took a 4-3 lead on Chris Ratliff's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Ratliff hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Adirondack pitcher Jim Turner visibly frustrated.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Adirondack manager Daniel Brenton. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
Buzzard's Bay is now 33-19. Adirondack is 33-18.
