Peacocks Absorb 6-4 Loss at Howling Park
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Wichita Wolverines and Murraysville Peacocks came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Wichita Wolverines knocked off the Murraysville Peacocks, 6-4, in TML AA action at Howling Park. Wichita pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Luis Jacinto had an outstanding performance. Bill Rodriguez, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. Dustin Booth notched his 6th save in 7 chances.
Wichita third baseman Gabe Koenigsfeld helped the Wolverines go up, 6-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Koenigsfeld hit a 2-run single off Murraysville pitcher Carlos Arreola.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Koenigsfeld told reporters after the game.
The victory puts Wichita at 23-40.
