Seagulls Lose to Whitecaps in Walk-Off
|
Aaron Rowe did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Clearwater Seagulls from losing the game, 6-5, to the Boston Whitecaps in 14 innings at The Studio. Rowe went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The triumph puts Boston at 39-28 for the season.
The decisive blow was delivered by Tristan People in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a 2-run double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Robert Phillips to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place was rockin'," said People.
