The Beaumont Drillers beat the Carson City Mustang, 9-6, at Drillers Stadium. Beaumont second baseman Kyle Brunner, who is tied for 6th in the RAA in hits with 73, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 3 runs batted in. The winning pitcher was Yukimasa Kobayashi. His record now stands at 3-6. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Drillers. Jacob Allen earned the save for Beaumont.
With Beaumont leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Brunner hit a cutter from Josh Blum for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Brunner said. "We did a good job of that today."
The 5th-place Drillers hiked their record to 29-41.
