Cornhuskers Earn 7-5 Win Versus Windsor
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers racked up a win at The Corn Crib, bumping off the Windsor Royals, 7-5. Juan Rivera, who started for DeKalb, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up the save was Mike Dooley, his 15th. DeKalb is now 39-32. Windsor is 42-29.
Had Jonathan Dawson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Dawson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Cornhuskers.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said DeKalb manager Keith Allen.
