Buzzard's Bay third baseman Jayden Byrd pounded Spokane Bulldogs pitchers at The Kennel, but it was not enough to keep the Beetlecats from falling, 10-9. Byrd went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Yes, it was a win for Spokane; but their 18-53 record is still nothing to boast about.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bert Rivera in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a bases-clearing double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Robby Medlin to win the game for Spokane. The home crowd went nuts.

"This wasn't a good win," said Rivera. "It was a great win."
