Byrd Leads Charge, Buzzard's Bay Blasts Monarchs
The home crowd had a good time watching the Marysville Monarchs and Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats get after it.

The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats had no problem beating the Marysville Monarchs, 14-3, at The Coffee Grinder. Jayden Byrd led the way. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for Buzzard's Bay. The winning pitcher was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Castro. He tossed 99 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

Nick Reed hit a 2-run home run off Roberto Pacheco in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Beetlecats ahead, 3-2. In addition to the homer, Reed had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Buzzard's Bay skipper Dorian Payne.

At 41-23, the Beetlecats are currently third in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division.
