Wichita Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Wichita Wolverines overcame a good performance by Niagara Falls first baseman Byron Hogan to knock off Niagara Falls, 5-4, in 14 innings at Howling Park. Hogan went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Steve Saeger snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Dean Armstrong suffered the loss. The Wolverines are now 25-39, while the Pipe Fitters fall to 37-26.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jamari Muse in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dean Armstrong to win the game for Wichita. The home crowd went nuts.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Muse told a Wichita Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
