Late Rally by Hackers Secures 9-7 Win
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers beat the Wauwatosa Indians, 9-7, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Silicon Valley right fielder Tony Jimenez led the way. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Silicon Valley reliever Willie Riojas was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Kaoru Sakamoto took the loss. The Hackers lead the RCL AA Lou Piniella League by 5½ games.
Arturo Bolivar took Wauwatosa hurler Kevin Walczak deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Hackers on top, 9-7. In all, Bolivar had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Feels good to get the job done," Bolivar said after the game.
