Conditions were not ideal but Beaumont and Murraysville were able to put their game in the books.
The Beaumont Drillers locked up a win at Red Bull Stadium, knocking off the Murraysville Peacocks, 6-3. On the mound for Beaumont was right-hander Axel Borens. He played a major role in the triumph. Borens picked up the win for Beaumont, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. Jamie Charles picked up the save, his 3rd.
Beaumont shortstop Stan Spencer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 36th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.
"Nice win for us," said Spencer. "Now we'll go after the next one."
With the victory, the Drillers upped their record to 39-27.
